In this tour, two of the most popular tours in Iceland are combines in a single day trip. Save time and money and see both the Golden Circle and the South Coast of Iceland in one day! This is an 11-12 hour tour with stops at the classic Golden Circle and South Coast landmarks like Thingvellir, Gullfoss, Geysir, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. You will be travelling in a comfortable bus with free Wifi and a guide.
Chances are that you’ve heard of the famous Golden Circle route. It’s pretty much the perfect day tour because you’ll see some of Iceland’s most famous natural wonders in a single day trip: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir geothermal area. If you only plan on going on one tour in Iceland, this one should probably be on top of your list. The second tour you don’t want to miss is the South Coast day tour. Now you can get on our Golden Circle and South Coast combo tour for 11-12 hours of historic sites, waterfalls and amazing wonders of nature.
Many Icelanders will tell you that their favourite part of driving around Iceland is the south coast. The beautiful waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the amazing black volcanic sand, Dyrhólaey Island and Reynisdrangar Rock Formations are some of the highlights. You´ll drive past glaciers and volcanoes, for example, the infamous Eyjafjallajökull Glacier and the volcano sisters, Hekla and Katla. Many people tell us that they feel energised and invigorated after driving through the harsh but stunningly beautiful environment on the south coast.
After we pick you up in Reykjavík we’ll head straight to Þingvellir National Park. Your guide will tell you all about the history of the area and show you all the important spots. You’ll have time to explore, take photos and hike around a bit. After that, we’ll take you to Gullfoss waterfall where you’ll experience the power of the waterfall. Just close your eyes and listen to it roar. After you take a few waterfall selfies, you can walk around the area. Next stop is the Geysir geothermal area where you’ll see the geyser Strokkur. Walk around, take pictures, shop and either explore the area or relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or go into the café for lunch. Your guide will of course point you out everything of interest and help you out if you need anything. Remember, there’s free wi-fi on board so you can post your pictures immediately and brag about being in Iceland. Next stop is Faxi waterfall and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is very special because you can walk behind it (rain coats recommended if you like to stay dry). After that, we’ll go see another waterfall; Skógafoss. It’s a magnificent waterfall and you can walk up a path to see it from above. We will drive along a beautiful route to the black sand beach, Reynisfjara where you can see the Reynisdrangar rock formations. On the way, you’ll see the Sólheimasandur black sands and drive past the volcanoes Eyjafjallajökull. Of course, this is a guided tour so you´ll be informed of the history of each spot and your guide will tell you about anything else of interest along the way so you definitely won’t be bored.
Please note that for this trip we require a minimum number of 6 adult participants in order to operate. We have to reserve the right to alter, delay or cancel (hopefully not) any tour due to weather or any other unsafe conditions for your safety. OUR REVIEWS FOR THE TOUR
I loved this trip and all the sights on it, our tour guide was an eccentric Icelander who was very knowledgeable and passionate about Iceland. It’s an intense tour as you cover about 800kms in a day, so you’re out about 12/13 hours. Our guide did show us other things along the way and spoke of old Icelandic folklore about elves and trolls. It was amazing to get this kind of insight. I would highly recommend it, there were plenty of comforts stops along the way too.
Gudjon, our guide was fantastic, the knowledge he had of the country was brilliant and we saw and learnt so much. Highly recommended!
